The iniquitous nature of the American healthcare market forces primary care doctors to try to provide care in 15-minute blocks. And more than half of that time is spent wrestling with cumbersome EMR (Electronic Medical Records), instead of talking with their patient. Providing comprehensive care to a human being is complex. Certainly more complicated than landing a man on the moon. Yet in the name of Fee-For-Service reimbursement, we expect a provider to manage that complexity in 7-minute interactions, up to 30 times a day.

This is not person-centered health care. This is not smart business. This is not right.
